Web3 payments are moving toward two important frontiers: solving the last-mile problem and enabling autonomous commerce. Blockchain can move value, but adoption depends on making that value easy to use at the point of payment. At the same time, AI agents are creating demand for payment infrastructure that can support automated, programmable transactions. Building the infrastructure connecting users, merchants, applications, and agents could be one of the defining challenges of the next digital economy.
