The role of formally verified smart contracts
Most smart contracts today are tested and audited, but that does not guarantee they are error-free.
Audits help, but they are still human reviews. Bugs can slip through, edge cases can be missed, and once a contract is deployed, fixing mistakes is difficult and often expensive.
That is where formal verification comes in.
Instead of just testing how a contract behaves in certain scenarios, formal verification uses mathematics to prove that the contract will behave exactly as intended in all possible situations within its defined rules.
In simple terms, it answers a stronger question:
Not “does this seem to work?”
But “can this ever break under any condition?”
This is especially important for financial applications.
