This is my take:

Peaceful protest is literally a cornerstone of democracy. It’s how voices are heard when other systems fail. Making it illegal would silence the very people most in need of being heard.

While I understand your perspective, apart from the government disrupting protests with police and military personnel, I still see no reason to express your voice while wearing a mask.

i disagree completely

first, obviously it makes sense to wear a mask in large public settings (like protests)

but second, the easier it is for gov to attempt to thwart protests and their organizers the more likely it is to happen

I agree with them; there is no reason to wear masks at a protest unless you have ulterior motives for violence.
