Two masterpieces by
#Rembrandt van Rijn the full-length portraits of Martin Soelmans and his wife Oopjen Coppit, dated 1634 are among Rembrandt’s most important works in a private collection. These life-size portraits are Rembrandt’s only full-length works and stand as some of the most remarkable in his career. 🎨🖼️
For many years, these works belonged to the wealthy Rothschild family. In 2015, through a collaboration between the French and Dutch governments, they were purchased for €160 million and are now jointly owned by the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.🏛️🇫🇷🇳🇱
