Time for a (re)introduction … 👋 Hi, I’m Loring. 🇲🇲 I got into crypto after I witnessed the military coup in Myanmar in 2021. I saw first hand how self-sovereign digital assets can make the difference between life in prison and a life of freedom/fulfillment. 🛡️ I work at @shutter, helping make Ethereum become more fair and credibly neutral. My goal is to eliminate malicious MEV - which has stolen $1.8B from crypto traders since 2020. 🤝 I’m passionate about funding public goods (ie underfunded dependencies), esp via @protocolguild @octant and @glodollar. 🎰 I enjoy game and mechanism design - esp lotteries, auctions, dominant assurance contracts, etc. 😬 I left Twitter a couple months ago because the algo was force feeding me fascist propaganda. I really like Farcaster but I wish there was more serious crypto and cypher punk conversations here.

Finematics made a compelling case for creator coins and collector casts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SIFaazhrr4 But I'm still not convinced. Why would I buy a creator coin unless I share in future creator revenue or get some other right? Otherwise, a creator coin just a memecoin with the creator's name. Why would I collect a cast if everyone else can enjoy it for free? Otherwise, a collector cast is just a donation to a public good (at best) or a worthless NFT (at worst).
