Anyone know of a way to have an ENS domain sit in a smart contract that lets others pay a fee to mint a subdomain? Anything like this already been built?

Anyone know of any web3 directory tools that operate on the protocol level rather than the platform level? Thinking about how on-chain organizations can have platform-agnostic member directories, in the interest of censorship-resistance, and as a way to avoid platform churn.
