I think it’s natural for people to jump onto the next hot thing. It’s a lack of focus and set of values that lead to this type of thinking. Definitely think competition is a factor but I’d argue in most cases anyone that jumps on when it’s in the shiny object stage are too late to be competitive.

Idk who said it but working at least one year in the public sector provides a ton of value based on the connections and experience you gain.
