and people will say "but we tried to do productive things with crypto and it didn't work" but did we really? as far as I'm concerned the industry has been speculation-first since 2017 and the ICO boom... and how could it not be? the money was so EASY mint a coin, draft a whitepaper, promise the future of finance, and the money poured in we never had to really work on the hard problems of putting the tech to work beyond speculation but now everything is tokenized, every retail investor has been squeezed, and no one is buying the promise of hype any more this seems like the natural time when the real use cases will emerge
