as a US company if you pay someone more than $600 in a year you have to collect tax info from them to file a 1099 form, this happens to a lot of people and vendors when operating a company since $600 is not that high of a threshold. the threshold amount increases to $2000 next year

Yes...$2k is a great improvement. There are many grants and support programs that are capped at $600 reward or earnings per year. 

Now, it's a healthy increase and makes these programs more economic per person to operate.

Maybe one day they can increase the amount in the 7th amendment of the US Constitution all the way from 1789 too?
