I'm a big believer that terms actually matter! e.g. pitching "frames v2" to developers outside of Farcaster was noticeably more difficult than "mini app" and telling people to download "Warpcast" when hearing about Farcaster was confusing. So might be a similar situation where "airdrop" is a mismatch in expectations

100%. The main thing that changed when I heard "mini app" was that it suggested ability to send notifications. Which opens a whole new door. related. I think you might like this old talk from Tim O'Reilly. he lead the rebrand of "free software" to "open source software" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ir_7NJGhvsM

the social network distribution of tokens is unique afaik, so considering a term that encapsulates this and combines it with something signifying earning tokens might be good

Farcaster was confusing for normies. But with upcoming big adoption , (as i believe not priced-in yet ,in BTC and all other crypto-related products or platforms and my context is like “BTC are a GOD and web3 in just scaling and makes narratives more simple to understand and add some use cases) So everything can be an experiment.

If goals are to try the mini apps then let’s make that how we earn Do xyz and get money for it Also stream the rewards so it forces users to open the mini app multiple times

Might be. But mark my words, Given time, people will migrate to Farcaster in waves. Web2 is too broken, too controlled and too yesterday. The future is onchain. If I came here not hoping for drops/rewards, whatever you may call it( I didn't even know about it), I believe others will too.

Totally agree, @linda ! “Airdrop” sets high expectations that can confuse users. Renaming it to something like “rewards” would make things clearer and more honest.
