I don't know if anyone else's parents are like this but I've been trying to get mine to visit the doctor for a check up since I was a kid and they refuse to but finally broke through today to get them to schedule an appointment and I'm relieved

My dad will go to the doctor because he feels off. My mom needs to be attacked by a bear.

My father is the same, but my mother the opposite. At least one visit a week ๐Ÿ˜… but meanwhile she forces my dad to go also.

Hopefully it wasn't because some part of their health undeniably deteriorated... It's a problem with some of my family members. They'll delay preventative care, and only accept to act when the problem becomes obvious. At which point preventative care is no longer appropriate.

A lifetime of shitty experiences with overworked doctors who don't actually learn and care about your SPECIFIC problems. AI really has the potential to change this: + Dictate a daily log of how you're feeling. + Connect wearables data. + Get AI recs for what specific doctor or specialist is worth seeing and why.

Just wait until they start to pinky swear with each other to not tell you about health issuesโ€ฆ Itโ€™s hard for parents to let their kids worry and they struggle with that role change. I hope you all the success getting through to them.

Even though Iโ€™m a doctor, when it comes to my own parents, itโ€™s completely different. The scariest part is seeing their test results or scans my mind immediately starts thinking of the worst-case scenarios. Itโ€™s hard not to worry.
