Great feedback from @matthewfox @sayangel on potentially renaming "airdrops" in our program as these are closer to quests/campaigns/rewards. Taking name suggestions and will think on it!
Think it's calling them airdrops that triggers people since the expectation is random generational wealth Pressing a button and getting any amount of $ should be a good thing, just feels like expectations are off because of the naming association
My $0.02: consider renaming them. The airdrop word carries a lot of weight in the space that people can’t part ways with. Seeing as these tend to be meant to drive traffic they’re closer to promotions, incentives, rewards. These are more like when hello fresh offers me $100 in credit to resubscribe.

smooth brain thought here is that you already have the name. the name is Rewards and it's a great mini app. You can just expand Rewards to incorporate the airdrops and set better context for each one.

I really like this idea @linda Makes it easy to hook into the existing usdc leaderboard rewards and have one mini app where you earn money on FC And each program leads to discovery of the other — imagine an $5 quest recipient noticing the leaderboard and posting more to win usdc

Would like to highlight @catch0x22.eth excellent cast from earlier that suggests the same thing
developers and those backing airdrops should read this or y'all need to stop labelling farcaster coin distributions as airdrops social drops is much more marketable https://farcaster.xyz/dwr.e... https://open.substack.com/p...

social drops is normie friendly. Facebook games that pay to play is easy to understand leans into the community aspect and gets away from airdrop = farming aspect

The name that came to mind is “campaign rewards” There are two ways to earn money on Farcaster: Farcaster Rewards and campaign rewards. Projects campaign by providing rewards to users ☺️ I think if you both call it rewards you can also mentally peg the $ amount of airdrops to smaller overall warpcast rewards

I would cut out airdrop/fardrop completely because that gives people the assumption that 1. Many people get it 2. It’s a lot of money 3. They are entitled to that money. And Farcaster at this stage needs to come up with their own naming conventions I think too

Promotions - focus less on the drop and more on the app itself and capturing attention Quests - for the reasons others have said

FarDrops? Also I asked ChatGPT but the names were meh — although vibe dispersals was funny. And it owes you $10 for Frame Flows.

“Sample” - given freely to get a taste and promote a brand “Quest” - active participation that could lead to other opportunities “Campaign” - selling an idea “Reward” - presumes an existing relationship. Items exchanged for specific behavior “Airdrop” - goods scattered via parachute to huddled masses

+1 very much so on name change. The connotation of ‘airdrop’ elicits very different reactions than ‘reward’ etc
