Just got out of surgery. House burned down two weeks ago. Feeling more grounded and grateful than ever. Seed round coming to a close. Hard to describe the feeling. Amor Fati.

Two nights ago, my fiancée and I lost our dream home in Malibu to the Palisades Fire. This is my first time experiencing something like this, and it’s been a potent, humbling moment. What hurts the most is the 1/1 nature of everything we carefully curated in our home, the heirlooms, the art, my journals, family images. All gone. But in the midst of loss, there’s clarity. I keep coming back to the analogy of a Buddhist mandala, where the creation is impermanent and meant to be let go. This is life. We’ve built it once, and we will build it again, even faster. Everything we’ve built, we can rebuild, with greater intention and resilience. I’m grateful for this experience, even as painful as it is. Thank you to everyone for your support. Big love to all.

Appreciate you sharing this, @drewcoffman.eth. I lost my beloved home in Malibu two nights ago. I couldn't agree more. I never thought that my house would burn down the way it did. I only grabbed my laptop and ledger. I didn't think everything else would burn and didn't have the time to grab heirlooms. I lost timeless photographs and pieces passed down to me from my family. With that, I am finding peace and solace in this process, finding inspiration from buddhists who practice the art of sand mandalas only to throw them away.
