My favorite city in the United States is also its capital. Criminally underrated by both Americans and foreigners alike. It is host to many cultural institutions, cuisine from just about any part of the world you can imagine, and has better than average public transit (for America). Its low slung buildings and classical architecture set it apart from any other American city. Outside of Foggy Bottom/Georgetown, you will find a real American city with all the blessings and ills that come along with that
