Using the address on the ID, they walk to a nearby apartment complex and ring the bell. He was cleaning up his desk when he came across an overdue library book buried under a stack of papers. The due date was weeks ago, and he felt a pang of guilt as he remembered the reminder emails he had ignored. Quickly, he grabbed the book and headed to the library, hoping the late fee wouldn’t be too steep. When he arrived, he explained the situation to the librarian, expecting a scolding. Instead, the librarian smiled and waived the fee, saying it happens to everyone now and then. Relieved, he thanked the librarian and promised to be more careful in the future. As he walked out of the library, he felt a weight lifted off his shoulders, grateful for the understanding and the fresh start.
