the public perception of crypto is accurate to 95% of the space. most in crypto have one motive: make as much money as possible, in any way you can. (the same can be said of most markets, but crypto is inherently transparent, so it’s more obvious) crypto is not without its environmental impacts, thus it has found itself wrapped up in the “accelerationist” discourse, along with other emerging technologies like AI and robotics, which people are rightfully scared of. yet crypto has a unique problem: it requires belief to function. if no one gives value to the underlying currencies, they are worthless. if it wants to survive, crypto needs to lean in on the things that are inherently good about it. the way it removes barriers and gives power to laypeople. the way it’s open and programmable. crypto can not succeed if it is hated by the public.…its growth will forever be stunted. so it needs to package itself in a way the public can digest.
