A shiver crosses me
at the sudden gleam of a sunray
breaking through the heavy veil of clouds:
a promise of hope,
yet a wound of blinding light.
I bow my head,
seeking the path beneath my feet,
as if to unveil the secret
that binds me still,
despite all,
despite you.
