Many people feel that time seems to pass faster today than it used to. Our fast-paced lifestyle, the large amount of information we consume, and constant mental activity leave the brain with little chance to process details, making time feel shorter. As we get older and our routines become more repetitive, we create fewer memories, which makes days feel compressed. Social media and the digital world intensify this feeling by filling our time with small, forgettable tasks. Although real time hasn’t changed, slowing down and adding new experiences to life can help reduce this sense of time rushing by.
