Not a painting but a sculpture: Sleeping Nymph, by Antonio Canova. Saw it in the V&A Museum. It was underneath a skylight. When I saw it, a sunbeam came through the skylight and fell on it. And damn if the sculpture didn't look alive for just a few seconds.
