for context, reel-to-reel tape is the ultimate medium for serious audiophiles. sounds better than vinyl (and digital).
extremely expensive ($500+ for one album), very fussy and difficult, only a few people in the entire world sell/maintain the gear necessary. it’s a HUGE pain.
