I agree with your point, but I would argue it's downstream of other systemic incentives.

IPOs may be rising, but there's also private credit.

meanwhile, it's not effective to index on sticks over carrots and regulate corporations, the recourse has to be competition subsuming that asymmetry, so separate states should incentivize actors who index on bigger local portfolios, not freestyle international race to sub out to the lowest common denominator

taxation should target idle capital, not activity nor captivity.

i agree with you about the positive effects of such programs, and to some degree, $10k in equity is indeed a better-aligned incentive than $10k in cash (tho you can't eat equity, cash is important too ofc)

my point is that 19 out of 20 companies will not spend more on their employees unless they have to, doesn't matter if its pay raises or better equity. if you advocate for this (and i do agree!), then you're advocating for better employee ownership, lower CEO:worker pay ratios, smaller executive bonuses, less stock buybacks. bc that's where the money goes right now.

I think they're all critical reforms

1) scrip is compensation with inferior incentive
2) job placement is less insecure (for both employers and employees) than credentialed admission
3) a handful of traditional central exchanges with JIT dynamics forces colocation & "efficiently" creates too-big-to-fail financiers
