In 1920’s people bought clothes from department stores, Lord & Taylor & Saks Fifth Av were popular.
In 2024, people buy online, clothes are made thousands of miles away from the stores they are sold, nobody makes clothes at home, barely anyone uses tailors or seamstresses and Lord & Taylor went bankrupt and Amazon bought the Lord & Taylor building.
