Let me introduce y’all to Zaron: the demon who was birthed the first time I tasted pain. He kept growing, bigger and darker. The scars grew uglier. I ran till my feet failed me. Everywhere I hid, Zaron found me. Zaron kept rumbling in anger, trashing everything around him. I was too scared to look at the monster they created. I kept running,like a cowardly dog with her tail tucked between her legs. I ran till I was out of breath, my windpipes tightened. “I couldn't breathe.” I had been running for years without rest. My visions blurred out. “I can’t see.” Years of building a dam underneath my eye bags. And then I fell; I fell into the abyss, out of breath and out of sight. Then it happened, years of running, years of being scared: I didn't realise zaron was born to protect me. I was too scared to Look. Zaron’s growling and rumbling were a reflection of the pain I was feeling. I was drowning in my pain I didn't notice him till he got big and scary.
