one of my best moments with my dad came during one of the darkest times of my life.
i had just discovered I had some health issues, and the weight of it all nearly pushed me into depression. everything felt heavy..eating felt like a chore, and even getting out of bed took effort. but through all of it, my dad never let me feel alone.
despite his demanding schedule, he would always find time to call me. every single day, he’d ask, “have you eaten?” or “what would you like to eat today?” and it wasn’t just about the food, it was his way of showing love, of reminding me that i mattered.
sometimes, he’d come home even when it wasn’t convenient, just to be there with me. and when it was time for hospital appointments, he wouldn’t let me go alone..he showed up, every single time, without fail. that kind of presence, that quiet strength, made all the difference.
it wasn’t a grand gesture, but it meant everything. In those moments, i saw just how deep a father’s love could go. 1 reply
