Kind of disagree. Isn't the whole reason Bitcoin being created to provide a decentralised alternative to the fiat system? If speed and efficiency is all we care about, might as well ask the government to create a digital currency that is tracked with some SQL database and call it a day no?
If all we want is just an upgraded SWIFT/Visa, then I guess it's time to pack it up? I think the actual problem is that crypto's public image is just so poor, therefore not gaining the network effect it needs to be useful for anything other than speculation.
Also I feel like other than bitcoin folks, other people in crypto aren't contributing meaningfully to current sociopolitical discourse, such as the Epstein stuff and the ongoing wars.
