I think that depends, if you hit the right customers that are deeply respected in their field, others in that same field will follow. And if you nail it with them, things grow organically really nicely. This is specially true early on, so it's only true for a while. For scaling, yeah marketing is absolutely crucial.
I only know 90s landlines by heart.
