Web2: This is the era of the internet spans 2004 till present and is popularly referred to as
the read and write era (users can now read, comment and share data with each other).
This era is highly based on User-Generated Content (UGC) with popular examples like
FACEBOOK (2004), YOUTUBE (2005), and TWITTER or X (2006).
Although this era addressed the issue of being able to pass information freely by users
without requiring advance knowledge of programming, it still had a down of
centralization i.e. users had no control over the information they put out there while
signing in or up on these platforms and they intentionally and unintentionally give
permission to these centralized organizations to give off these data to other
organizations that required the data which leads to various adds being displayed while
users use applications like FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE and X.
