EIP-7702: Giving Your Wallet a Temporary Smart Permission Imagine forwarding your phone number temporarily to another number to receive an important call. After the call ends, the forward is disabled, and all calls return to your original number EIP-7702 works the same way This standard allows regular wallets to temporarily act like a smart contract wallet for a single transaction and then return to their normal state. Once the transaction is complete, the wallet goes back to its original state, without any permanent changes How Does It Work? 1. Signing the Authorization: When you enter Base App and import your wallet, you'll be asked to sign an EIP-7702 authorization 2. Enabling Smart Wallet Features: By signing, your wallet is granted permission to use Coinbase Smart Wallet’s contract logic, unlocking advanced smart wallet features 3. Returning to Normal: After completing the transaction, there are no changes to your wallet ownership or seed phrase, and you retain full control of your assets
