India Marks 17th Anniversary of 2008 Mumbai Attacks
Leading the tributes, President Droupadi Murmu expressed gratitude to the military for their tremendous sacrifice and urged them to keep fighting terrorism. The bravery of police officers like Hemant Karkare, Ashok Kamte, Vijay Salaskar, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, and Constable Tukaram Omble who faced the attackers during the 60-hour siege was praised by leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Rajnath Singh, and Devendra Fadnavis. Home Minister Amit Shah attended a mourning service organized by the National Security Guard at the Gateway of India, and Israel's Deputy Ambassador showed support and emphasized our common resolve.
