Round 6. Digger.
Had to sit with this one for a couple days. But I can confidently say this is probably one of the ‘best worst’ movies… if that makes sense
Story structure has it constantly swinging back and forth between working well and falling completely flat. Felt not as cohesive or compelling of a satire as Dr. Stranglove and somewhat forced. (If you have to comment on it being a satire in the film you’re just spoon feeding the audience.)
But on the other hand also somehow one of the best attempts at social commentary on current state of America, with some genuinely funny and interesting moments.
Riz Ahmed and John goodman were my favourite of the cast, cruise was fine, though oscars will love him.
Either way has you thinking. Which is more than most movies these days.
