Such picturesque objects can sometimes be found literally "under your nose"
This is a stone arch railroad bridge built in 1916 over the Yarynya River in the Novgorod region. Now, alas, abandoned.
In 1914, when the First World War broke out, a grandiose project of the Valdai-Narva railroad, about 450 km long, was conceived. First of all for military needs. But the project did not come to fruition, as is often the case with us. The revolution happened, Russia came out of the war, and Narva ceased to be Russia at all.
We limited ourselves to a small 67-kilometer section Valdai-Kresttsy.
