Found myself in a situation I don’t quite know how to handle. I’ve recently started sharing an office space with someone who wears strong niche perfume every day. I’m not against perfume at all but I’m one of those unlucky people who just can’t physically tolerate strong scents in enclosed spaces. If it’s a fleeting trail in a hallway or something that fades in an hour, I’m usually fine. But now I sit next to someone whose perfume doesn’t fade. And it’s starting to feel like a daily sensory wall. So today I caught myself thinking what excuse could I come up with to move to another room. Or should I try and be brave and ask her to skip her favorite scent collection? Even though I know how carefully she chose every one of them to reflect who she is, how it’s part of her image. None of the options feel good. Not hurting someone. Not creating conflict. Not suffering in silence. Anyway. Be kind to yourself, to others, and maybe save your signature scent for the open air.

I used to handle the heat so much better, summer was my favorite season. But something shifted. Now I catch myself watching kids running around on the beach with envy, while their parents try (and fail) to get them into the shade… Meanwhile, I can’t even last a few minutes in the sun anymore.

I was planning to take two photos of this meat and potato pie: one before baking which you see here, and one after. But it was so good, the second photo never happened.

I have a terrace where I can plant flowers in pots, and I wanted to start small. I went to the store today to pick something I like and got completely overwhelmed. First of all, I didn’t expect it to be so expensive. And then I started wondering if anything would even survive on my super sunny, windy balcony with no shade at all. The last thing I wanted was to spend a hundred euros on plants that wouldn’t make it. So I ended up just taking photos of some flowers and leaving empty-handed. But at least I got to meet this adorable duo at the pet corner.

It was 32°C today, and I spent most of it lying in the coolest corners of my home I could find, thinking about all the things I should do and then falling asleep again. In the evening, I made an apricot pie. Not to be productive, just so the day wouldn’t feel completely pointless.

Weekend breakfast. Started getting into organic food. For now, trying out whole grain bread and milk. The taste of milk from a glass bottle, with cream settling on top, instantly took me back to my grandma’s house, where she used to buy fresh milk from the neighbor with a cow.
