On February 24, 2022, at 4:00 a.m., the lives of Ukrainians were divided into “before” and “after”… Today marks exactly four years since putin was supposed to “take Kyiv in three days” Back then, very few partners and friendly nations believed Ukraine would stand… more than a couple of months. Zelensky was strongly advised to leave the country and try to govern what remained from exile. In the first months, even military aid was barely discussed - why help a victim that was expected to be inevitably destroyed? Why send weapons, close the sky from bombardments, deploy troops, why provoke Russia - if it was certain to win? And yet, we are now in the fifth year of the war - and the mighty NATO alliance is still afraid to make the decision to close the sky over Ukraine… Even though cities are bombed every day and civilians are killed - for some, it is happening somewhere far away. But Ukraine stood. Against all odds. Against putin’s russia. It stood when there seemed to be no chance of victory. Ukraine was not ready - but it endured. Hundreds of thousands of destroyed homes. Countless lives lost (I don’t even want to write the number…). Broken destinies. This is not life - it is a daily hell, a nightmare that never ends. We said goodbye to our loved ones, our family, our friends - they are no longer with us. But we will remember them. We will never be the same. Our lives will never be the same. But Ukraine will live. We have no other option. We have nowhere to run. This is our land. This is our home. Deep gratitude to the brave and strong Defense Forces of Ukraine who defend our country. Deep gratitude to everyone who supported and continues to support Ukraine during this horrific time. Without you, we would not be here. Karma exists. Everyone will receive what they deserve.
