Bandits are kidnapping people. Families are mourning. Communities are living in fear. People are getting killed, displaced, bombed, and forced to pay ransom just to stay alive.
A kidnapped teacher was gruesomely killed and the video circulated across social media like human life meant nothing. School children are still being kidnapped. Parents now send their kids out every morning with fear sitting quietly in their chest.
But somehow, the loudest conversations from the people meant to lead the country are already about 2027 elections.
It’s exhausting.
Every single day comes with another terrible headline, another tragedy, another reminder of how broken things feel. At some point, you stop reacting with shock and just sit there tired, mentally drained, trying not to lose hope completely.
The saddest part is that Nigerians are still expected to wake up every morning, go to work, survive inflation, act normal, stay optimistic, and keep moving like this is not slowly crushing people mentally.
Nothing about this feels normal anymore.
