A malicious actor can exploit this by deploying a hookless pool for a token with vastly manipulated prices. Non-Uniswap dexes will only show the manipulated prices.

If you're considering deploying a token with a hook, my recommendation  for the time being is: don't.

If you want volume to happen outside of app (eg ppl originating from dexscreener) i would not recommend it. A market maker could take eg $100 of your token, one-side LP it at (eg) $5k in a narrow tick, and make off with $5k in free money. Because the tick is narrow the trader wouldnt see a significant price impact. Then they could immediately yoink the liquidity.

Ppl would realize whats happening, and a warning would go out to not trade your coin

any trick pool would have to be fairly deep for it to be good bait. which would be good for token price if anyone did wanna try it. im using an in-app token w hooks, and plan to encourage in-app swaps. you think its still not worth it, despite the positives?
