For my personal use, crypto is in a great place. Fees, speeds, wallet UX, applications are perfectly fine for my usecases, and they'll keep getting better. However, I'd like to see some things significantly improved, in order of importance: - CRITICAL: Configurable withdrawal rate limiting in Safe & smart wallets and indeed, in all smart contracts, should be a standard. Without this, I significantly limit my usage of crypto - Custodial standards for smart wallets - Stage 2+ decentralisation for L2s, complete overhaul for Tron (normies receive USDT on Tron) - EUR stables w/ liquidity - Better frontends & standards - More competition & options for minimal hardware wallets - Range order management for Uniswap V4 - Significantly less volatile, reliable, long-term sustainable and high liquidity SoVs (BTC and ETH are far too erratic) - Integration into widely adopted payment networks, both global and domestic - Some inaccessible assets tokenised as RWAs - Farcaster with bustling non-crypto content/discussions

This is part of the endgame for blockchains. The new SEC Commissioner wants to make IPOs easier and broaden public access through scaled regulation for startups, tokenization of private securities, and regulatory sandboxes for decentralized experimentation. https://x.com/HesterPeirce/status/1920487518471946589

Why not change protocol to Snapchain? I'm a little confused about the difference between Farcaster the protocol and Snapchain the blockchain? Don't they overlap in many ways?

It's the most secure, trusted, & credibly neutral chain. It cares more about decentralization & solo stakers than any other. It leads the industry in research & open source, & it's uniquely positioned, with L2s, to capture value from innovation in execution, privacy, standards, & the growth of institutions & appchains.

Good opportunity to get off telegram after they banned every blockchain but TON to build on their platform. https://decrypt.co/302023/telegram-exclusive-ton-barring-other-networks

Farcaster is the better brand. It's more memorable. I'm here quite a bit and still default to searching for Farcaster when I'm trying to set up a new device. With that said, there should definitely be two different brands.

My biggest takeaways from the State of JavaScript survey: Developers love Vite and Astro for frontend. Vitest has higher satisfaction and retention than Jest. Tauri & Expo should be considered for cross platform development. If you're not using TypeScript, you're in the shrinking minority. https://2024.stateofjs.com

Last I heard it's supposed to give channels zero boost, so just post to main.

Commodity money means the material has intrinsic value, for ETH that's yield from staking and restaking. Seems equally important to paying for block space which may or may not yield more value.

Strangely they don't want web2 users until they can win web3. I think this is a mistake. We're all internet native. More important is how you differentiate between Discord, Reddit and X.

Don't think anon casting will work unless they are more curated. Can't have a single account with thousands of voices expressing highly different opinions and styles.

Do most community led sessions happening in classrooms, specifically MUD tomorrow, require a laptop? My battery is dead 😫.

Another example, Coinbase Wallet is not working with Devcon passport. I go to post in their channel /coinbasewallet which purpose is "feedback" but can't because I'm not a member. Old channels should be public by default as they were created with that expectation.

Can't post feedback in the official channel for /coinbasewallet feedback cause I'm not a member, but it's not working with Devcon passport 😫.

I love having a job where I didn't have to interview or schmooze my way in. Just showed up and did the work.

Why did Vitalik lose the debate on Gnosis becoming an L2? He didn’t counter key points: Ethereum’s roadmap, like ePBS, could harm decentralization, and Gnosis—backed by many solo stakers—may be the best hope for a truly decentralized alt L1. Why should GNO validators give up business to ETH stakers? I still think Gnosis becomes a L2 because their core products like Safe and Pay have more utility & reach in a cross chain ecosystem.
