Recently @coinbase , Cloudflare, and Google joined forces to revive it through the x402 protocol — basically teaching the web how to handle payments natively. How? On the blockchain. ⚡ In a nutshell, this will enable payments to be settled along with a single API call between users, applications, and services , no credit card or prepayments needed. And the possibilities are enormous. Imagine a world where: 🌐 AI agents, bots, and services trade value directly between each other, using stablecoins on the blockchain rails. 🤖 Your AI assistant pays (or receives payments) for an API call, dataset, premium content, or work done — automatically, in real time. 💸 Millions of microtransactions happen daily, with instant on-chain settlement.
