Such a truism. Seems the road was opened fully about 8hr or so after the incident. No fatalities and only a handful of people were injured.
There are several stories I have heard about involving the people stranded there going car-to-car checking on others. There is hope for humanity.

100+ Car Pile up. Both Northbound and Southbound roads closed. They're transporting stranded motorists in the local high-school's busses to get them off the scene.
