Carbide-Wilson ruins. Odd little place tucked into Gatineau park. In the 1900s this was the HQ of a mad scientist type working on enriching fertilizer. He died suddenly in 1915 and his factory fell to ruins. Later it became known as a spot for the gay community to meet (the IRL grindr of its time). Now it’s a fun place to hike, fat bike, snowshoe or ski to, sit and enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature.
