You know it’s bad when a TECH person is talking about externalities. The majority of tech people I know simply do not care about negative costs to anything. Making Money Is Good “Progress” Is Good And they do not care who they hurt, what they damage, or what we lose in the process of those 2 things. I don’t want to live in the world where this information is “valuable”. And I would argue that these markets weren’t created for the value of the information they provide. They were created for their addictiveness and entertainment value.
