there are tons of user-generated-content streaming platforms and tons of digital content stores that do well
these two aren't thriving due to management/execution issues not due to fundamental issues in their category
what they do have are content/catalogue and loyal user base which no company younger than 10 years (other than tiktok) has been able to assemble
stuff you mention as reasons against are all reason/argument for why businesses with underutilized assets and bad execution muscles get bought out and revampled
