Why ERC-4626 Changed DeFi Forever
1. Talk about the Problem (Before ERC-4626)
Imagine wanting to use a DeFi vault a while back. Each protocol had its own rules. Deposits were odd. Withdrawals were strange in a completely different way. Integrations were fragile. User experience was a nightmare. Every time there was custom code, it led to new bugs.
Basically:
- Vaults were all over the place
- User experience was inconsistent
- Integrations were fragile
- More code meant more risk
Using vaults back then was like juggling flaming swords. It was exciting for the daring but painful for the sensible.
2. Introduce ERC-4626 in Plain Language
Then ERC-4626 appeared. Think of it as the universal standard for vaults. It provides a consistent way to earn yield:
- Consistent
- Safer
- Easy to integrate with other DeFi options
No more guessing what a vault will do. Now every ERC-4626 vault simply says, “I work this way, trust me.”
