Three things stood out to me:
1) The second half was more engaging than the first. I think it's because the second half had more live action, dialogue.
2) I was, at times, and unsure about the tense. There's some bouncing back and forth between present and different stages of past.
3) Given the importance of Jonas to the girl, might be good to spend more time fleshing out the beginnings of their relationship so that the reader gets a better understanding of what led to her need of him.
Hope that helps!
