the TikTok algo situation is definitely dire poidh algo used to be fine tuned for political/tech/social content but this is what I got when I logged in today
this image is a good encapsulation of how crypto has painted itself into the speculative corner people exchanging money for tangible goods and services is what makes an "economy" gambling/trading/investing on that activity is part of it, sure, but it's derivative is this really all we're good for? a faster way to speculate on existing economic activity? imo it's vastly more interesting to figure out how programmable money unlocks net-new types of economic production
