I came across @wake 's review and commented on the project... and now I have the great privilege of being invited as a beta tester to Arfy's closed beta project "VISOR". A new take on news delivery & consumption. Upon entry to the platform, you are welcomed to a 1990's BBS-esque welcome screen with beautifully written Ascii Art with the word VISOR. Then a funky boot up load screen kicks in which kids nowadays wouldn't understand. Definitely got my nostalgia pumping. But it's not old, it's smooth, sleek and highly stylized in a 1990's 2000's Hollywood cyber/cipher aesthetic, as if you were a FBI or CIA operator looking at your very specially curated news feed. The periodic screen glitch effect was not missed on my keen eye 😎 The UI takes you to a global atlas of news pins, fully zoomable in and out by region, country, city. Pick your area of interest, your topics, look at intuitive color coded signals (less Jank, more instinctive). Search bar also available for more direct topic searches. What I like particularly about the platform is the interconnecting relationship lines feature. At a glance (this is so key nowadays), you can see intercontinental news connections without having to read in to the actual article. I float my cursor over Australia. Oh, there seems to be a news items about Australia and... South Korea? Lemme have a look... This piquing of curiosity and better yet, discovery is done by simply moving your cursor over the country with news items/number. Very cool. You might even find a country connection you never knew about. Integrity of news sources and reach on information will be a key point to this project, but from what I can see, it's very promising. Keep it up Arfy! 🔥🔥🔥
