the art of cinema has been lost in recent years. it's very rare to come across movies with rewatch value. i thought i couldn't watch movies because i was so busy and my attention span had noticeably decreased over the years.
i was wrong.
i happened to rewatch the lord of the rings trilogy and i couldn't get my eyes off the screen for the 9 hours it lasted (of course i didn't binge watch the sequels), then i rewatched the hobbit. in recent times, cinema is dead. it has been replaced by something soulless.
A key example is Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" vs James Gunn "Superman". Man of Steel is cinema and it has high rewatch value, Superman on the other hand has little to no rewatch value.
I realize i'm not the problem. new age movies lack soul and as a result, they're bland and uninteresting.
