Another Kchamp classic made legible by @rainbow history Here’s how you turn $25 into $.75 By buying $PUBLIC at the pico top only to get viciously rugged on 😂 I don’t expect to profit off of dev coins or creator coins — it is a gesture of support — but sheesh By contrast my $NATIVE while still down (reflecting overall market) has held its value So tell me — What is the right approach to these coins? I want to support good projects. However there’s no shared standards or norms around these coins, and I’m unsure how to approach. At the end of the day, I would have felt better about just donating $25 to the project directly instead of being exit liquidity for someone else (surely not the creator, but maybe. I haven’t checked the chain)

I don’t even know if buying a token helps creators. Unless they are the ones dunking on you. And in that case I don’t wanna support them. Why create an adversarial relationship like this?

I think you buy them in lieu of a tip. Hold because you consider the money gone and maybe 1 or two will pop off? I honestly don’t know. I feel better when I look at them like nft receipts for giving money to someone I believe in

ive been told its the same approach for any other coin: buy low sell high 🫠 havent figured this out yet either tho. most people only buy for upside. hoping new appcoins will at least stay stable if they get usage ( including mine 🤞)

Are you an investor, a speculator, or a patron? These coins have room for everyone, but you can't be all of the above.

The sad truth about this space is that it is way too oversaturated. The majority of tokens created (literally millions of them) die within a few months of their deployment. There's no "right" approach to buying new coins; you just need a lot of luck

I have come to the conclusion that, if you buy any coins, it's best to believe that the money is lost and be pleasantly surprised if it isn't. And actually your suggestion about donating to the project directly is a better way to support devs or creators

> What is the right approach to these coins? The tl;dr is that projects (treasuries) need to pay people to hold, penalize high time preference behavior, or both. Otherwise it's all pump and dumps. I'm building something in this area if you wanna chat more abt it.

I so much like this, it's very easy to lose money in crypto than to make money. Just buy the top and sell the bottom, or non-challantly put funds into random memecoins. Really nice experience xD
