The information asymmetry right now
The press coverage of this acquisition is almost entirely framed around Stripe's valuation, Bridge's founders, and the "crypto is going mainstream" narrative. None of this is wrong. All of it misses the structural point.
The structural point is that stablecoin orchestration — the layer that decides which chain, which pool, which rail, which compliance path — is now controlled by a company with 50 million business customers and a regulatory relationship with every major jurisdiction on earth.
This means the information flow through the tokenized settlement layer is no longer neutral. It runs through Stripe's commercial priorities. That is not inherently bad. It is a fact about the topology that changes what every other participant needs to know and do.
