Ren Building in Shanghai π
Although the Ren Building was never built, it won the recognition of architects Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) for its inventive form. His plan called for two connecting structures, denoting the Chinese character for δΊΊ "man". One building was dedicated to the spirit, and the other to the body. Together, they merge into one, just as people bring their physical and mental well-being into harmony through activities such as yoga or tai chi.
The creative concept of BIG tried to physically embody this abstract idea of synergy between mind, body and architecture.
