Mad respect to @dwr and @v for having the courage to confront hard truths. We 100% bought into the vision of a decentralized graph and built Rodeo explicitly on top of Farcaster to find our first hundred users. The strategy worked and we were able to bootstrap an engaged, healthy community that's still with us today. The reality though is that this strategy stopped working for us many quarters ago. Mainstream consumers aren't here. And there's no signs that they're coming. Existing networks are entrenched and there's no obvious social lever that's going to change that equation. Leaning into the wallet makes sense, even if itโs a significant departure from what we envisioned initially. Pragmatism is the only path forward.
